Some quick rain showers

For some of you waking up this morning you might be noticing some rain showers (or puddles) around where you live. To be expected this time of the year, we once again have an upper level trough of low pressure trying to push through the region, and this one isn't as strong as the ones we've been seeing, but nonetheless it's good enough to be giving the region some rain showers today.

A stationary front has positioned itself along the base of the trough over in western Indiana, and that front will finally get some motion to it later today and slide through the region as a cold front. The cold front, though not strong, is going to help those rain showers out in the region, but as for heavy rain like what we saw over the weekend, nah, I am not expecting that at all today. In fact, the rain will be pretty much over with in the majority of the region this evening.

That's right, the cold front is going to slide through this afternoon in the western half of the region, and this evening in the eastern half of the region. This will leave plenty of room for a high pressure to slide down along the trough and into the region tomorrow and keep the region calm and clear for the next few days.

The temperatures aren't going to be as cool as what we've been seeing lately. The high pressure isn't going to be strong enough to put us back into the frost zones, but it'll be cool enough that you'll notice it. The high pressure will be the dominating feature in the region for the rest of the work week and into the weekend, that is...until a quick system pushes through the Detroit, Erie, and Buffalo areas towards the end of the weekend. But more on that later.

So some rain showers in the region this morning and early afternoon for the region (possibly into the evening for the eastern half of the region) and then clear skies with calmer weather in the region over the next few days and into the weekend.

My extended forecasts are up and posted so make sure that you check those out. I'll revise those later this afternoon if need be. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
