A cluster of rain showers and thunderstorms is moving through the western half of the region this morning. The majority of it is just light to moderate rain showers, but on the southern end of the cluster there are some storms. Some of the storms have had a storm warnings with them, but those have all been cancelled, but do expect some heavy rains and maybe some brief gusty winds around 40 to 50-mph (though 50 is pushing it) within some of those storms. Recent radar images are showing that a few of the clusters are trying to grow, and that is to be expected, but I am not expecting a severe storm event like what we saw yesterday. The rain showers are just ahead of the front, and those are going to clear out by the early afternoon in the western half of the region. The cluster (along with new developing storms later in the day) will make its way towards the eastern half of the region. Some of those storms later on could be a bit on the strong side, but that is just for a small portion of the forecast area. Behind the cluster of rain showers, clear skies will become more prevailant as a high pressure starts to slip in from the west. This high is going to drop temperatures noticably...into the low to mid 80's for highs in the region tomorrow, and tonight and tomorrow night we'll see lows down into the 50's for the western half of the region. And those temperatures will filter into the rest of the region as well by tomorrow and tomorrow night.
So, really, some more rain showers and thunderstorms this morning in the west, the east will get them later this afternoon, and then the skies will clear out and we're going to go for a calm next couple of days. I'll keep you updated, but for now, that's the weather!
