Rain showers are moving through the western half of the region this morning, mainly in the Toledo area and places just to the east of Fort Wayne. This isn't the main excitment though, although it may seem like it. The front is still back in western Illinois this morning and that will continue to head towards the regionl. The rain showers that we're seeing are a result of a mid level wave of low pressure pushing through the region right now.
These rain showers are generally light, although the recent radar returns have been showing that a few moderate clusters are making their way in. Rain showers starting to move into the Detroit area and areas just to the east of Cleveland. Looking like those are going to continue to move NNE towards the Lake. However, Cleveland will start to see them later this morning, more so probably towards noon. Detroit is just starting to see them.
This afternoon, I am expecting that the air will become a bit more unstable and this will allow for those rain showers and thunderstorms to redevelop out in Indiana and then start to enter the western half of the region. The big wild card is going to be the clouds and what they'll do. The more clouds we get, odds are that whatever forms will be rain showers. However, if we get some sun, we might be able to pick up a few storms in the region. The areas that I'll be focusing on during the remainder of the morning will be Fort Wayne, Toledo, Detroit and Cleveland because they are going to get all of this first. So if you're reading this from those areas, be sure that you check back around Noon.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, that's the weather!
