Well, the rain is falling over in the Fort Wayne and Toledo areas right now, and we can expect those rain showers to be off and on (mostly on) through the early afternoon. I am thinking that there could be a brief break later this afternoon, however those chances of rain are going to come back and we'll go for mostly cloudy skies tonight with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms likely overnight tonight. Now on to other places. Still waiting for that rain fall to pick up in Erie and Buffalo, and it looks as though it'll be doing that in about an hour or so, and those rain showers you can expect to last through the afternoon and into the evening once they begin to fall.
Right now as far as that front is concerned,
it is still stationary but has shifted just a little bit, it is running through west to east across central Ohio and central Indiana. And later tonight it will move northward as a warm front and that will make that air a little unstable and favourable for some storm activity. Some of the storms could get on the strong side tomorrow and Wednesday, but in general I am not expecting much from them at all aside from rain showers and some regular thunderstorms. The biggest threat with these storms if they do become strong will actually be small hail and heavy downpours...which is escentially a thunderstorm only just a tad bit stronger.
The chances for rain showers and thunderstorms are going to remain high for the next 36 hours as that warm front crosses the area and we await the cold front to move through.
This doesn't mean that every minute for the next 36 hours or so will be filled with nonstop rain, it just means that simply that during the next 36 hours or so the chances of rain will be pretty much the same. Some hours will go by and we wont see anything, and some hours will go by (like right now) where it is raining, and then some hours are going to go by when I could very well be tracking a storm for you all...so it just depends, and do remember to keep checking back for updates to know I expect any weather to get on the strong side.
Now the SPC does have some interest in the southern part of the region tomorrow and Wednesday, and that sounds like a reasonable idea seeing as how temps are going to warm and moisture levels will more than likely be somewhat high. Now, most of the storms that do form will probably be regular storms, and the ones that could get strong will mostly just contain small hail and brief heavy downpours.
It wont be the end of the world and odds are the clouds are going to make it hard for storms to develop, so keeping an eye on these clouds will be something that I am going to be doing tomorrow especially...because if we get a tone of clouds during the day, it could hinder the development of those thunderstorms. I do understand this strong storm section of the post sounds a little vague, however later this afternoon when I do the afternoon update, I am going to go over briefly with what I expect for the day tomorrow in the terms of these storms. Now, again, I am not expecting an outbreak or anything, but really what I am expecting is that some storms will form in the area, and that probably one or two of them will end up being strong...that is all. Nothing much, more than likely about the same intensity of what we saw last week.
I'll keep you updated as always, and I'll have more coming up later this afternoon for the Afternoon Update, which will be around 3.30 p.m. or so. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
