(SPC still showing some interest in the western part of our region for Sunday night).
Well the low pressure system that I am watching for the weekend (not the one that will effect us tonight) will be moving through the region starting on Sunday. Tomorrow it will start to take shape in the Plains and then it will take its time getting organzied as it hangs around its birthplace for a while. On Saturday it will start to move towards the region and by Sunday it will just be entering the more northern part of the region. Will it be as strong as I originally expected? No, not quite, but we could get a few strong storms from it nonetheless.
The best chance for these strong storms in the region will be for Toledo and Fort Wayne on Sunday night and into Monday morning as that cold front starts to cross through the region. The intensity of this cold front will sort of weaken a bit for the region, so by the time this all gets to Buffalo it might just be a rain event. That will be another thing that I will have to monitor.
Before we get these storms on Sunday night however, the day Sunday will be a warm one. Highs in Toledo and Fort Wayne might be in the mid 70's and possibly near 80°, however that might change depending on the exact track of this low pressure system...but either way it'll be a warm one. When the cold front passes through however, it wont cool down temps crazy-like as have other fronts. No, we'll cool down about 10-15° and still see highs in the 60's for the day Monday and possibly into Tuesday.
So the best chance for thunderstorm activity in the region will be for Fort Wayne and Toledo on Sunday night. Wont be anything to extreme, but there is still a good chance for those storms.
I'll keep you updated as always, and I'll update you on this low pressure system this evening for the usual evening update. Extended forecasts have been updated for Cleveland, Detroit, Fort Wayne and Toledo. I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
