Well the low pressure is turning the air over in the Detroit area right now, because that is where that low pressure is centred. The cold front is sweeping through the region right now and that is going to drop those temps a little bit throughout the day today. Now the rain is beginning to end over in the Fort Wayne and Toledo area and there could be a few lingering showers this morning and afternoon, however I am watching yet another trough of low pressure from the Plain's that will make its way into the area later this afternoon and this evening.
It isn't going to be a big chance for rain showers, and most of us actually wont really see any rain showers, and if we do they'll be light. However this trough over in the Plain's is producing some precip, so it is just enough that I am going to give places like Fort Wayne, Toledo, Detroit and Cleveland a possible chance for rain showers this evening. However the slot for possible rain showers will be brief, and by midnight the skies are going to begin to clear out. So it wont be a washout, but it'll be enough that if you have plans this evening, you might want to bring that rain jacket or umbrella just incase. It is going to be because of the proximity of the that low pressure centre this afternoon that could give us a lingering shower, and then we'll see that trough late this afternoon/early evening, and that could give us some chances for rain...but like I just mentioned, not really a big chance and it wont be a washout. Be sure to check those daily and extended forecasts which I have updated for you.
Now, there is still that High Wind Warning in the area right now and for Toledo and Cleveland that will go until 10.00 a.m. this morning, and for Buffalo that will go until 4.00 p.m. this afternoon.
Highs today for much of the region will be this morning, however most of us will still get into the 50's this afternoon, despite the present temps of falling back into the 40's in Fort Wayne and Toledo.
So, I'll have a noontime update for you once again, and we'll take a look at whether or not I expect that trough to still produce something in the region, and whether or not I am expecting there to be more rain in the region on the weekend. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
