For the most part the last bit of the rain showers are moving out of the region right now in Erie and Buffalo. Got a couple bands of rain showers moving south into Erie and that appears to be the end of this system. Cloud cover will still be prominant from Mentor to points eastward. However that low pressure to the south is going to be moving eastward and then shift northeast and go up along the East Coast. It is weakening rather rapidly right now, so that will start to end those rain showers in general whether the low moves out or not.
Mostly clear across the entire region, minus the clouds about to enter the Green Bay area and the rain over in the Erie and Buffalo metro areas. Temps are holding up, but varying across in many places.
Right now, the weak cold front is visible on the visibile satellite image, and according to the recent surface charts it has become stationary. Ok, here is where things are going to get interesting. Cold front crosses through the region late today and through the day tomorrow, so scattered rain showers will be prevalent across much of the region.
Then, things start to get a little bit more interesting. We have a low pressure system that will form in the Plain's...and then it will move northeast towards the Fort Wayne area...but if that doesn't seem interesting to you...try this: stalling and backing up. Interesting huh? Might be. Computer models are starting to show the low pressure will hit Fort Wayne and then head northward towards Michigan...but then back a bit to Lake Superior. Not common...however it has happened many a time before. But, the GFS model shows this stalling...but the CMC/GEM does not. It just has the low pressure being typical and going about its merry way. Either way...we're getting rain this weekend (or it'll be the beginning of a five year drought knowing my luck).
So GFS model has the low stalling slightly and then moving a bit backwards, while the GEM/CMC has it moving about normally.
I'll have another update later this afternoon, I'll spend some more time on this and see if I can get all this straightened out within the next couple hours for you guys. So check back a little bit later this afternoon, and I'll have another update for you as always. I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
