Lake Effect Snow warnings...

Common this time of year is Lake Effect snow, the lakes have not yet frozen over and the other weather around the region is boring...so we talk about the Lake Effect snow. Right now, there are quite a few lake effect snow warnings, advisories and a couple watches out right now for a lot of places, so let's get to them while they last.

Erie, PA: Right now under a lake effect snow warning until 7 PM Tuesday. Between now and then, you all could recieve anywhere from 8-16 inches of snow, some places may even see higher numbers. Right now, it's all a roll of the dice, most places will atleast see about 8 inches, however depending on where the wind is blowing from exactly and how the physics of lake effect snow (cold air, warmer waters...the usual), it really is by chance if some towns get 16 inches, while 2 miles away you only get 8 inches. The National Weather Service in Cleveland has placed the following counties under a lake effect snow warning, they are:

Ashtabula county Ohio, and Erie and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania you are all under a lake effect snow warning until Tuesday.

Moving on over to Lake Michigan region...areas like South Bend and just to the west of Grand Rapids, you're in for it. About a foot of snow possible in both locations by tomorrow night, and you're lake effect snow warning goes until Monday Night as well. There are several warnings out for the areas along Lake Michigan up to about Grand Rapids. I do not expect a whole lot of snow to fall in Grand Rapids, maybe about 2 inches between now and tomorrow night.

I'll be keeping you all up to date as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
