About 380,247 snow flakes...

...is the number of snow flakes I counted. Ok, not really, but I am running out of humor so I must use what I have left. So what is going on with the weather you ask? Simple really:

We have Anastasia who is up in Hudson Bay, now up to 994 mbs. Anastasia has two fronts, the first one passed through the Great Lakes region on Monday, and now the second one, which is weaker, has been trying to make it past Michigan since yesterday. We also have a high pressure setting itself up in Manitoba which is helping on bringing in some cooler weather. Cold winds blowing off Lakes Erie and Ontario are mixing with the much cooler air over land, causing lake effect snow from Erie up to Buffalo.

So, tonight most of the weather will be dominated by the westerly winds blowing off the lakes and from the Midwest region. Snow showers are still likely for much of the Great Lakes region tonight. The only places that'll be seeing any real snow accumulation will be places like Erie, Buffalo and Grand Rapids (only on a lesser scale).

Let's take a quick look at tonight's forecast for some of our selected cities:

Toledo: Mostly cloudy with snow showers, snow accumulation less than a half inch. Lows down near 20°.
Erie: Snow showers likely tonight, maybe a half inch of accumulation. Lows in the upper 20's.
Fort Wayne: Scattered snow showers likely, otherwise mostly cloudy with lows down in the lower 20's. Snow accumulation of a half inch is possible.
Buffalo: That lake effect snow warning is still in effect for you all, anywhere from 8-14 inches of snow could fall between tonight and Friday.
Detroit: Scattered snow showers with a low down around 20°. Little snow accumulation is expected.

We'll have more coming up for you in the morning, however I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
