A calm day in the region today and tomorrow as that high pressure will continue to dominate the regional weather. That high pressure has very little intensions of moving fast, and it'll slowly drift to the east over the course of the next few days. However, by moving slightly to the east, that'll put us on the western end of the high which means that some warm air will enter the region.
Today, places in the region can expect to see warm temperatures in the region. This means that places like Fort Wayne and Toledo could hit 90° for a high today, and perhaps into the lower 90's by tomorrow afternoon.
How long will this calm weather last in the region?
Not much longer. Though the high pressure isn't really going anywhere at the present moment, it will eventually move far enough out of the region by Sunday that it'll allow a cold front to do some work in the region. But before that happens, on Saturday we're going to watch a quick moving, and weak, disturbance try to pass through the region. I am thinking it'll have troubles doing that on Saturday because of the presense of the high pressure, but nonetheless a chance for a stray late afternoon/early evening storm will be possible in parts of the region on Saturday.
Now, Sunday and going into mainly Sunday evening and into Monday morning: we'll watch that high pressure back off a little bit and allow for a broad cold front to enter the region. This cold front is going to have some rain showers and thunderstorms with it. For now, I am going to keep this as a scattered event, but a storm line could be possible (albeit it is still 5-days away). The storms will be pushing through the western half of the region on Monday, exiting probably no later than late Monday night. The eastern half of the region will seem them about 12-hours later than the western half of the region which is what I expect with these types of systems.
Another high pressure builds into the region after the front...and that is where my forecast ends.
I'll keep you updated as always, and I'll have another forecast revision coming up this afternoon if need be. But for now, that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
