Hot weather in the region today as an upper level ridge makes its entire presence known. Highs today in parts of the region will be at 100F, with some places near the Fort Wayne area possibly getting a few degrees above 100F. Obviously some very hot weather in the region today, some of the hottest since 1988. There are several heat advisories and warnings up for the western half of the region, the most interesting being the Excessive Heat Warning for Fort Wayne which is in effect from 10.00a.m. until 8.00p.m. today. Toledo has a heat advisory as well in effect for today. There are red flag warnings (fire danger) up for the western half of the region...so do not burn anything...or at least, if you do, make sure your neighborhood isn't downwind from it all. I am still working on the extended forecasts and I'll get those posted in a little bit, but for now, that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
