The weather across the region today is looking a lot calmer now than it did this time yesterday morning. We watched that upper level trough push through the region yesterday with some associated waves of low pressure which helped those rain showers and thunderstorms develop. Now with the trough over central Pennsylvania, we are on the NW flow of the upper level winds which means that we're seeing some calmer weather for the most part.
Because of our location within the upper level winds though, temperatures are going to remain a little bit cool this morning and throughout the day today in the region...and possibly even going into tonight where some frost might be possible in the NE Ohio and Erie areas, but more on that later. Drier air is filtering in from the northwest, so that will keep the clouds to a minimum throughout the region. I am seeing some lingering clouds in the Erie and Buffalo areas this morning, but those too will start to diminish as the day progresses.
Ridge of high pressure is going to set up in the region tomorrow and into the first half of Saturday in the region. This high pressure ridge will keep the weather calm and it'll start to warm us up a little bit, but I do not expect anybody to get into the 80's during this time.
I am watching yet another system which will push through the region, and this one too is being a little tricky. It is a normal system, however the level of moisture associated with it is a little lower than I would like, so I will have to keep an eye on that and monitor it some more. Otherwise, the forecast is pretty straight forward for the entire forecast period.
I'll keep you updated as always, and I'll some more updates later this morning. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
