There isn't a whole lot going on in the region right now when it comes to weather. An upper level disturbance associated with a weak area of low pressure will move through the region today, allowing for some spotty snow showers to develop here and there. There will also be a little bit of lake effect snow showers in the eastern half of the region as this system moves on through, but really the accumulations in general won't amount to much. We're going to see about 1-3 inches of snow in the Erie area between today and tonight, and possibly an inch in places like Cleveland. The western half of the region today will also pick up some light snow showers and some flurries today as well, but really the more noticable snow showers won't arrive until this evening. As that upper level disturbances passes through the region this evening, it will provide some additional moisture for the system to work with. Looking at some snow showers to begin developing this evening (on top of the widely scattered flurries that'll be around) and those will last a few hours. Now the snow showers will generally be light, and I am not expecting much in the way of wind either. Looks like about an inch maximum will be possible in the Fort Wayne and Toledo areas, but otherwise...not a whole lot going on.
Snow showers in the region will begin to taper off from the west to the east as this system moves to the south of the region and pulls out. An area of high pressure will begin to develop over the region allowing for the skies to clear out a little bit. However this high pressure isn't going to give us cooler weather, in fact, it'll give us more warm weather than cooler weather.
The high pressure will quickly slide over to the south and east of the region during the day Tuesday. This slide will allow for warmer air to drawn up into the region and should put us all back to above normal temperatures for this time of the year. The calm weather will not last us that long however, as we're going to be seeing yet another low pressure system develop and head towards the region. This one won't be as strong as the one that we all saw the other day, but it'll be good enough to give us some rain here and there. I'll type more about that system tomorrow morning.
So a rather quiet weather day across the region despite some snow showers. Due to the fact that I am not expecting to change the forecast a whole lot, this will more than likely be the only post for the day. I'll have a brief forecast revision this evening, otherwise for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Updates beginning tomorrow morning starting at 4.30 a.m.
