Spring?

Did you know that during this day in 2009 the region was seeing all negative temperatures? That was a good winter. Weather across the region will try to hold on to winter one last time before our next system arrives tomorrow. Tonight, looking at some more cooler temperatures to enter the region just before some clouds arrive late tonight (towards sunrise). Toledo is going to attempt for a single digit tonight, but at this point, we may just settle for a lower teen reading. Either way it will be chilly tonight across the region. Now what about this next system?

This system is going to be an odd one, yet simple to forecast at the same time. A low pressure is going to come out of the Plains tomorrow, pulling its warm front across the region tomorrow and brining in rain showers with it. The rain showers will be fairly light, but they will fill a good bulk of the region by tomorrow evening. Expect temperatures tomorrow to climb into the lower 40's with the passage of the warm front and then overnight tomorrow they will not get that low with lows only in the mid 30's (mainly due to the rain).

Tuesday, those rain showers are still going to be in the region as that cold front starts to approach. The problem with this low pressure centre is that it is actually going to stay to the north of the region by a little bit, this will keep us in the warm part of it, but then we're going to see the chillier side of it. Now this low pressure isn't going to be very strong, so the temperature contrast will not be huge. The rain showers will go from all over, to a more widely scattered event as the front nears the region.

Tuesday afternoon (late afternoon) and into the evening, the region will watch those widely scattered rain showers turn over to snow showers. As for wrap around moisture associated with this low pressure we're not going to be seeing that many snow showers in the region, but nonetheless there will still be some around.

Wednesday in the eastern half of the region will be somewhat interesting as a weak lake effect snow event could be developing. But the snow showers aren't going to be that strong, so at this point I am not expecting that there is going to be a whole lot of accumulation with this. Also, it will be a brief event, so it won't have that much time to do much.

Cooler temperatures are going to try to hold onto the region, but a high pressure will slip to the south of the region and then move to the east which is going to allow for warm advection to return in the region.

Otherwise, there aren't any areas to make changes to the forecast. I'll have more updates coming up tomorrow morning, beginning at 4.30 a.m. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
