Noon Update

There are no major changes needed to the forecasts at this point as things are basically going to plan. Cold front hanging back an extra hour, but it is moving through central Indiana at this time. Cold front will pass through the west throughout the afternoon and it'll enter the east by the early evening. Temperatures will drop gradually behind the front, but it will be noticable. Temperatures trying to hover around the upper 40's throughout the region with winds gusting a little higher than expected at this point. A high wind advisory is up for parts of the region, but those winds will only gust to about 40-mph at best, and those will lighten up a little bit this evening.

Looking ahead towards tonight, still not seeing a whole lot of wrap around moisture with this system as the low is drawing in some dry air from the north with it. Looks to be only a few flurries in the western half of the region tonight, but those will mainly be out by midnight. The west might still have a brief chance to pick up some flurries towards sunrise tomorrow, but again, not very high chances at this point.

Eastern half of the region will start to see a small lake effect event developing mainly after midnight tonight, however as that event continues into tomorrow morning, we're not going to be seeing the snow really accumulate a whole lot because the temperatures aren't going to be low enough for highs tomorrow. We'll stay in the mid 30's for the region tomorrow.

Otherwise, the middle of the week looks calm as a high pressure briefly builds in the region. We're going to watch a system to our south on Wednesday night/Thursday, and this will try to throw in some precip towards the region, but again, those chances aren't looking very high either. The question of whether or not it will be rain or snow is still a little debatable this afternoon as the 540-mb line is going to right over the region, which is going to complicate things slightly. However I am going to go with a snow chance at night, and then a rain chance during the day just until I can do some further investigation on that.

Otherwise, a cold front will push through the region after that, allowing for temperatures to return to their normal state for a few days.

I'll keep you updated as always, and my next update will be around 5.00 p.m. this evening. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
