No changes to the forecast right now as generally most things are going to plan. Looks like we didn't get those snow showers in the western half of the region, but that is alright, at least it was cloudy. The eastern half of the region tonight will have a chance for some snow showers as that short wave of low pressure races through that area. Otherwise, we can expect to see a generally calm night in the region.Things will start off clear in the western half of the region, but at times there will be patches of clouds that are going to enter the region, so that will prompt the off and on clouds in the forecast for tonight in the western half of the region.
Tomorrow the upper level begins to turn from the northwest over towards the west and then this will allow for increasing temperatures throughout the day tomorrow. But the temperatures aren't going to get to their warmest tomorrow, it will be Friday that is going to be warmer.
Upper level flow turns to the west-southwest ahead of an upper level trough and a cold front, and this will put temperatures into the mid to upper 40's in the region for tomorrow. But then we're going to watch a cold front get ready to move through the region late Friday night and into the day Saturday.
Saturday we'll watch this front push through the eastern half of the region. Now this front isn't going to have a lot of moisture to work with and the temperature contrast behind the front isn't going to be that much. So there will be a little lake effect snow showers in the eastern half of the region over the weekend, however, there will be very little accumulation and they wont be that frequent.
Average temperatures return to the region along with some cooler air into the region, but this quite possibly wont last very long as we could watch another system move into the region on Thursday and/or Friday of next week and this might give us a little bit of snow. The big thing about this system will actually be the cooler temperatures it will bring into the region - though the temperatures probably wont make single digits as of now - but it will put us below normal and we might be seeing a repeat of the weather we just saw...but maybe a little bit more. I'll type more about this later this evening during the Evening Post.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
