No major changes to the forecasts this afternoon as things are still mainly going to plan for the region. Looking at a break in the precip for a little bit in parts of the region this afternoon, but they will return back into the region on it’ll be in the form of rain by the evening for the western half of the region. The eastern half of the region will have to wait until early tomorrow morning for those rain showers to return.Rain showers likely in the region tomorrow, however those are going to start tapering off in the early evening across much of the western half of the region. Eastern half of the region will still have to put up with lingering rain showers as some of those will become lake enhanced.
Looking for cool air to ride over the lake on Friday and this is going to turn the remaining rain showers in the east into possibly lake effect snow showers which means that you guys could be seeing a little bit of a lake effect event.
Otherwise, main focus will be a low pressure system that is going to ride south of the region. If we’re lucky, in the western half of the region, we might be able to pick up some light snow showers and flurries from this system as it passes to the south. The main action from this system will stay off in the eastern half of the region, so really the challenge is starting to become Friday night/Saturday for the western half of the region.
Still a lot of forecasting left to do with this system, so I am going to have to cut this post short. Instead, I am going to have a complete update coming up around 3.30 p.m. this afternoon both on the site and on Facebook so be sure to check those out. I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
