Happy First Day of Astronomical Winter

Had to use the more detailed models this morning, which took forever to go through all the data they provide, but after hours of configuration looks like I got the forecast down so here is what the region can expect to see over the Holiday weekend…and some of you may not like it.

Low pressure centre is going to move through the region today and this is going to pull a warm front across the region this morning. This warm front will help keep the rain showers in the region and then it’ll help raise those temperatures as well. Then the low pressure centre will cross through NW Ohio and pull a cold front through the region late this afternoon/early evening.

An high pressure will develop in the south and move into the region from the south and this is going to help keep the regional weather calm for the majority of tomorrow morning…but this is going to last too long as we have one more low pressure system to keep an eye on.

A low pressure centre is going to develop in the south and then ride along the Appalacians and pass just to the east of the region. This low is going to pull down some cool air from the Plains and some warm air from the Plains so it looks like we’ll see a brief mix of rain/snow showers for an hour or two tomorrow evening, but the cool air will actually win out this time and we’ll pick up some light snow showers in the region. The snow will be the best in the eastern half of the region and then western half of the region will mainly see scattered snow showers. Nothing too much.

High pressure moves in from the Plains and then a weak/dry cold front pushes through the region, kicking up some lake effect snow showers over the weekend in the east. The high pressure will finally win out, so it looks like mainly clear weather in the western half of the region over the weekend, but cooler weather nonetheless. That dry front, as mentioned, will produce some light lake effect in the eastern half of the region.

I’ll type more about this light lake effect event around 7.30 a.m. this morning so do be sure to check back for that. I’ll be revising those extended forecasts throughout the morning, so make sure that you check back for that. My next Facebook update will be around 3.30 p.m. this afternoon. I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
