A few minor changes to the extended forecasts this evening. I gave Fort Wayne and Toledo about an inch accumulation for Monday, and I gave Erie 3-7 inches of snow for the 24-hour period on Monday, I will add snow fall totals for Tuesday tomorrow morning and I’ll have a good idea of how much snow that area will get. Otherwise, things going smoothly this evening. The region will be quiet tonight with temperatures in the mid 30’s all around. Now we just wait for our next system to enter the region and this will give the region snow and windy conditions by this time tomorrow night. Here is a quick update on what is going to happen over the next couple of days:
Low pressure to move out of the northern Plains tomorrow morning ahead of an upper level trough. The low pressure will have a trailing cold front with it and this is going to be brining some much cooler weather into the region. Rain showers developing ahead of the front tomorrow, but highs will occur in the morning for the western half of the region as the front will generally pass through the west before Noon tomorrow.
Lingering precip will turn into the snow showers by Noon (give or take an hour or two) in the western half of the region and we’ll go with scattered snow showers there. The eastern half of the region will see that front pass through late tomorrow afternoon and then the lake effect snow event really begins to kick up as winds turn to the NW and bring cooler air over the lake waters in a very windy manner.
Wind advisories are up for the western half of the region as the winds are going to be rather gusty on Monday and into the day Tuesday.
Upper level trough will also be over the region at this time, brining some scattered snow showers in the region for Monday as well as gusty winds and cool temperatures.
Otherwise a calm night in the region as nothing much will be happening until early tomorrow morning when that front begins to enter the region. Expect the weather to make a good change that will last a few days in the region.
I’ll keep you updated as always, and I’ll have full updates and forecasts coming up tomorrow morning starting at 4.30 a.m. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
