An Active Next 7 days.

The weather across the region today will be interesting as a cold front approaches the region with its parent low pressure over Ontario at 998-mbs. The weather ahead of the cold front is going to be rainy with warm advection taking place. This low is a little stronger than expected which just means that temperatures are a little warmer than expected this morning, hanging in the 50’s this morning steadily for the region. Once this cold front pushes through the region, temperatures are going to drop steadily.

Despite the passage of the front, there will be a upper level trough which is going to come down from the upper Plains and this will make it into the region this evening. This will keep the clouds in the region.

This afternoon the cold front will pass through the western half of the region around Noon today. This means that highs today will occur mainly in the mornings for the western half of the region, and then the temperatures will gradually begin to drop this afternoon in the western half of the region. Along with this drop in the temperatures, the chances for rain showers are going to pull out of the western half of the region.

The eastern half of the region will see the weather working a little bit differently today. The cold front wont pass through the eastern half of the region probably until early this evening. That means scattered rain showers will be out and about all day in the eastern half of the region. By this time however, then upper level wave will catch up somewhat closely to the low and this is going to blow cool temperatures over the warmer lake waters. This means that a brief lake effect snow event might be able to take place this evening and into the overnight hours. Now this event wont be anything major as a high pressure will try to keep it in check.

Tomorrow the weather be actually be rather calm in the region for the most part, despite a few lingering snow showers in the eastern half of the region tomorrow morning.

An upper level trough makes a passing glance through the region, spawning yet another possible lake effect snow event in the eastern half of the region on Saturday.

A cold front will pass through the region on Monday night/Tuesday and this will bring some rain/snow showers into the region. This is where that intense forecasting will play this morning as the temperatures will be a little tricky for the forecasts.

Another low pressure system will pass near to the region anywhere between Tuesday night and Thursday morning and this is also grabbing my attention as this low pressure will determing whether or not we’ll have a white Christmas or not.

I’ll have a lot more information on the upper level trough, the cold front and our next low pressure during the 7.30 a.m. update, so be sure to check back for that. My next Facebook update won’t be until 3.30 p.m. this afternoon. I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
