.Occluded surface low pressure making its way towards the region this morning. This is what is mainly responsible for those rain showers this morning and the continuation of the rain showers throughout the day today. Starting this afternoon in the Fort Wayne area those rain showers will begin to mix with snow and by late this afternoon in Fort Wayne and the rain will become all snow. Lets take a look at the weather for the short term in a city by city look. We’ll start with Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne, you’re going to be the closest to the “snow” location of this low pressure system as it passes through the region. Today you’re going to see rain showers likely throughout the morning, but then the rain showers are going to begin to mix with snow showers late this morning and early this afternoon. By the time the afternoon rolls through the rain showers are going to transition over to snow. Now because the ground is going to be a bit on the warm side (and wet side) accumulations are going to be hindered. The precip wont become all snow until this evening. By the time the snow really does begin to stick, the snow showers will have already started to become scattered. This means the best of snow accumulations will happen to the west of you guys and you’ll have to settle for about an inch of snow at the most. The snow showers will conitnue throughout the Fort Wayne area throughout the evening and , but then they’ll start to become widely scattered this evening. This means that the snow showers will taper off by sunrise. High pressure starts to build into the region and that is going to put your overnight lows on Wednesday night around 20°.
Toledo…by far the trickiest location to forecast for with this system. Rain showers will be likely throughout the day and into the late afternoon. The Toledo area will be seeing the highest amount of rain fall totals and already this morning about ¾ of an inch have fallen. The rain showers are going to start to become widely scattered late this morning, but they will still hang around in the region as the precip fills back in this afternoon. The rain showers are going to start mixing with snow showers this evening as the backside of the moisture enters the area. This will allow for the rain showers to mix with snow showers throughout the evening and then by late this evening the rain will become all snow showers by midnight tonight. The accumulations in Toledo area wont be that high at all, about a half inch at the most. The snow showers are going to last through the overnight hours, but only as scattered. By tomorrow morning the snow showers will start to taper off in the morning and then clearing in the skeis will take place throughout the afternoon tomorrow. This basically means that it’ll be chilly tomorrow night as lows will dip down into the lower 20’s depending on how early the clearing starts.
Other places in the region, with the exception of Detroit, are going to be seeing plain old rain showers throughout the day today and this evening. Erie and Buffalo are going to have to wait until tomorrow to see the rain showers switch over to snow, but by that time the bulk of the precip will have moved out of the region. This is going to mean that only a dusting of snow will be possible at best.
Otherwise, that high pressure is going to build in quickly tomorrow afternoon and evening. This high pressure will keep the area calm and dry through the rest of the work week. Still a chance for some stray snow showers Thursday night and Friday morning as a weak cold front pushes through the region, but I only have that chance up for Detroit. Otherwise, the majority of the region will just see cloud in that 24-hour period. Another high pressure will build into the region for the end of the work week.
This calm weather will not very long as I am going to be watching yet another low pressure get ready to effect the region. This means that I’ll be doing further forecasting on that this morning as well, and I’ll type more about that low pressure system.
Otherwise, not a whole lot to type about other than the weather in the region today. Typical November weather in the region today, this low pressure isn’t anything that we don’t see this time of the year.
I’ll have a regular update coming up around 7.30 a.m. so be sure to check that out. The site will be updated throughou the day.
I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
