Overall made a few minor changes to the forecast for the Toledo area this morning as the rain showers are already becoming a little widely scattered in the region. The rain showers will begin to mix with snow this evening in the Toledo area, but the Fort Wayne area will see that mixing take place a little sooner – mainly this afternoon. The rain showers in the Fort Wayne will become mainly snow showers by the evening and that could give the Fort Wayne area about an inch of snow…Toledo will see about a half inch at the most, along with Detroit. Now the big thing of course with all this is how quickly the rain showers are going to switch over to snow, but I am keeping the timing where they are. Surface low pressure entering Ohio a little earlier than I was orginally expected. This low is occluded which means that it is maxing out in its life right now, but it’ll continue to be a good low pressure.
Rain showers will continue throughout the day today in the eastern half of the region as the stationary front will be near to that area. The temperatures in that half of the region are actually going to be a bit on the warm side today, but those will quickly fall tonight in the region.
So how is the weather in general looking for the region? Rainy…some snow off to the west.
The snow part of this system is going to stay just off to the west of the region, where about 2 inches could fall in the central Indiana area…but the majority of that snow will stay off to the west today and tonight.
High pressure begins to build into the region tomorrow and that is going to push that low pressure out of the region and give us a calm looking Wednesday night and Thursday. Now there are two other little weather systems on the way, the most interesting one will be around Monday, and I am going to be doing further forecasting on that later this morning.
This is a typical, usual low pressure for this time of the year. And it is the precursor for the weather to come. Seasonal transition, hence all the rain.
So bring that rain jacket with you today if you haven’t already left and maybe an extra jacket because those winds will be blustery and the temps are going to be a bit on the cool side in the west.
I’ll keep you updated throughout the day, I’ll have another update coming up around 9.00 a.m. so do be sure to check back for that. I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather!
