Rain showers beginning to enter the region this afternoon as widely scattered and light rain showers. The centre of low pressure is trying to enter Kentucky and it will continue to make a beeline towards the region this evening and overnight tonight. Rain showers will increase from the south to north across the entire region as this low pressure drags part of the front back into the region.
A few flood watches are up for the Fort Wayne, Toledo, Detroit and Cleveland areas and there is a good chance that Erie could be placed under one. The main reason for the flood watch is just because the ground is already saturated from the previous rains we had a couple days ago, so the additional rain will cause for some field flooding in some places as well as making the ground rather soggy. To add to all this typical rainfall, we’re going to see a little swelling in the rivers in the usual spots tonight through the day tomorrow.
Rain showers are going to be likely throughout the region tomorrow and tomorrow evening as the low pressure moves through the region. The low pressure centre will then start to pull out of the region, but not before doing something that we’ve been waiting for a while: some snow mixing. Now the snow showers aren’t going be alone after midnight tomorrow night as the rain showers will still be trying to hang on here and there. The snow showers will evenutally win out, but they will only win out once the precip has become very widely scattered.
Widely scattered and lingering snow showers will be out and about the western half of the region Wednesday morning, but then another high pressure will build into the region and this is going to calm us down for Wednesday night and into the day Thursday. But this wont last very long as yet another pressure system will be on the way for Thursday night…and then possibly another, more interesting looking system moving into the region on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll type more about that later.
So for now, rain showers becoming likely throughout the region over the next few hours and into the evening. Rain showers likely overnight through the day tomorrow and into tomorrow evening.
I’ll keep you updated throughout the afternoon and the evening, so make sure you check back for updates. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather!
