Storms tonight

(Regional radar image for 9.03 p.m.)

Alright, where shall we begin this update. We have a line of storms crossing into Indiana which is looking fairly good in terms of its physics and its moving rather quickly. 70 mph is its speed. Now, there are some warnings on some of these storms and most of them look as though they are going to turn into just plain severe storm warnings. I have been following these storms over the past hour and the biggest thing I am seeing with them seem to be very strong gusty winds.

Biggest threat tonight with the storms will be small hail, heavy downpours and potentially strong gusty winds. The line is moving northeast and if things continue the way they are these storms dont weaken or anything here are the timings of them:

Fort Wayne: between 11.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m.
Toledo: between 12.00 a.m. and 2.00 a.m.

If they hold up long enough to make it Detroit, then the time for Detroit will be between 1.00 a.m. and 3.00 a.m.

Remember, these are quick moving storms and they are racing northeast, literally, at 70 mph...so very quick moving storms. When storms move this fast...you get strong gusty winds from them, so if you have chairs or something outside that can blow away easily... do make sure you bring them in ahead of the storm. There is nothing worse than getting sued by a neighbor because your chair flew into their car. You never know.

Now this is all pending that these storms do hold up, which I am thinking that they will for the western part of the forecast region tonight.

Remember, warnings are associated with this line of storms, so do make sure that you check that link on the daily forecasts so you can follow those storms. If things really get out of control tonight, then I will update you all. Remember, night time storms are by far the hardest to handle because you can not see anything, except for lightning. So for all you lightning watchers, if you stay up late enough you should get a show.

Due to the intense monitoring of these storms this evening, I was unable to get those nighttime forecasts done, however the link to the radar is still there. In general, I think it will be rather obvious of what we'll see across the region...scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Erie and Buffalo, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms likely in Cleveland and scattered thunderstorms, some could be strong in Fort Wayne and Toledo, and some plain old storms possible in Detroit tonight. Lows rising to about 50° in Toledo and Fort Wayne later tonight. However there of course will be a morning update tomorrow, so dont worry about that.

Again, if things get really wild across the region tonight, then of course I will update you on the situation, but if there is no update, then you know that things are either calm, or the storms died, or the storms are easy not as inclimate so they wont require an update.

Again, biggest threat for the storms tonight will be heavy downpours, strong gusty winds and possible small hail.

I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
