(Low pressure in the Plain's responsible for the rain showers later tonight and tomorrow across the region).
The rain showers are mostly down way to the south of the region and they wont really show up until later tonight across the region. The rain showers could be moderate at times, and maybe a few embedded heavy showers, but in general looking for mostly light rain showers in the region tonight. Today we're going to be seeing mostly cloudy skies and those clouds are going to increase moreso during this afternoon and we're going to look for overcast skies pretty much for the entire region later today.
Low pressure going to move up from the south Plain's later today, and that low might weaken just a little bit, in general it might stay at the same intensity that it is now. Low will then head Northeast today through the Midwest and then it'll head to Minnesota later tonight and tomorrow morning.
As far as temps are concerned today, mostly we'll be either at or just a little bit above average today. However, dont expect those temps to feel warm for two reasons: one the clouds, and two the winds. The winds will be gusting, especially in the southern part of the region tonight. Those winds will be gusting about 30-40 mph in most places like Fort Wayne, Toledo, Cleveland and possibly even Detroit and Erie could get a little gusty. The clouds will also keep those temps at bay.
Over the weekend, we're looking at a good chance of rain across the region as that low pressure moves through the region. Saturday will be a big rain day, mostly rain though we could get a few embedded storms. Rain showers will be off and on for the most part. Sunday will be sort of craps shoot in the most part, but in general those rain showers will take a break, but then we get the backside of the low pressure on Monday and those rain showers will return again.
Now for that fire while we're on the topic of the Plain's, the image below is of that forest fire. The white circle is where that fire is. You're looking at an infared satellite image which detects clouds via temps. The cooler the temp, the brighter the colour. So that smoke is making it into the air and cooling a bit. Pretty neat when you look at it.

So really the weekend is going to be a great one, it'll be cloudy and rainy and possibly windy and a little cooler. Temps are going to go back to average this weekend, but then they'll warm up again as another low pressure moves towards the region. It's that time of the year yet again. Brief break towards Sunday and then those rain showers will possibly return on the day Monday. However, with that second low pressure I am going to be following could be bringing us some more rain showers on Tuesday. That will be something I'll have to keep an eye on for you just for the heck of it.
