Important

Ok, before all the other media stations tell you otherwise let me explain to you what will actually happen with this system. We're going to see thunderstorms in parts of the region later today and tonight...it happens. Convection. Hurray for physics.

We got a low pressure down in the Plain's that is going to quickly move towards the region throughout the day today and then it is going to move through lower central Michigan. In doing so this low is going to produce about 2-4 inches of snow in Green Bay. Most of that snow for Green Bay will occur only on the grass and then it wont last very long because tomorrow I am expecting that you guys will get into the mid 40's for a high...so do not worry, it'll all be gone before you know. Actually, it might not even get that high in accumulation because the highs tomorrow for you all will be in the 30's anyways. Just a late snow fall I guess. You are going to get some cooler weather behind this low pressure system however, and you could see lows get down into the lower 20's by tomorrow night. But we'll type about that later because now I want to type about the storms that will impact the southern part of the region later today.

As this low pressure moves in, it is going to push that stationary front down in the central part of Ohio and Indiana northward. In fact already, south of that front we're seeing good storms popping up, so once that stationary front starts to move northward, I'll be keeping an eye on it. Before we get too far in all this, let me just point out that today the biggest threat with these storms will be gusty winds and small hail. That is just for our area...now you get down to Evansville and places like St. Louis then obviously things might be a little worse off for you. However for our region, I am expecting that about 90% of our storm reports will be from gusty winds and the other 10% will be from hail.

When the front begins to move, it will most likely be late this afternoon or towards the evening hours, and we're going to see a sharp increase in those temps across the southern part of the region when it happens. In fact, tomorrow I am expecting the high in places like Toledo, Detroit and Fort Wayne to happen before noon tomorrow. So that just gives you an idea of how this system is going to effect us overnight tonight.

So rain showers moving through the region right now, Buffalo will start to get in on those rain showers later this morning, and we could have the entire region under some form of precip later today and that will be sort of funny to see...at least if you find that type of stuff amusing.

So coming up around 7:30 a.m., I'll take you more into this system and type about what we can fully expect from it. I'll also let you know if I'll be "Storm Updates" and if I'll have to do redo my forecasts.

I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I will have them for you as always!
