(Latest infrared satellite image showing clearing starting in the region).
The skies are going to begin to clear in the west this morning, and then as the morning goes on the skies will begin to clear in the central part of the region and the eastern part of the region as this trough of low pressure pushes out of the area. The first part of the day could be filled with scattered rain showers and drizzle across the region this morning, however this afternoon is going to be nothing but clearing out and hopefully a lessening of the winds if all goes according to plan.
Erie and Buffalo could see rain showers mostly before noon, and then skies are going to start to clear out this afternoon and we should end with a fairly clear evening. Fort Wayne and Toledo, you're going to see scattered drizzle and rain showers this morning, and then those are going to be moving out by mid morning and by noontime we should start to see some clearing in the skies. Going to be a calm evening in the area, and temps are going to be fairly alright. We'll see highs today in the lower 60's for the western part of the region, however because the clearing wont happen until later this afternoon, the highs might not get as high for Buffalo and Erie and we'll see upper 50's for the most part over in that region.
Now, we're going to see a calm period for the day today and tomorrow for the most part in the region (minus Green Bay who is going to see their rain showers on Saturday and then ending on Saturday night). Saturday will actually be a nice day with a high near 70° for near much of the region and all should be good for Saturday. But knowing our luck this time, we're going to see skies cloud up on Saturday in the evening, and then we will be seeing rain showers and thunderstorms moving into the area on Saturday night and Sunday morning depending on where you are.
Low pressure is going to come out from the northern Plain's tomorrow, and that will quickly move east-northeast towards the northern part of the region, and I do not expect that this low is going to direcly cross the region, however the cold front will. The cold front is going to bring rain showers to the area on Saturday night and Sunday morning and though it wont start crossing through the region until Sunday afternoon, we could still see some rain showers and storms ahead of the cold front and while the cold front passes. Now this wont be a complete washout for the day Sunday and Monday, but we will be getting some rain showers and thunderstorms for the time between Saturday night and Monday morning in the region.
Will the storms be strong? I am not expecting that any of them will be, the front wont be strong enough to produce some strong storms, some in general all is looking like regular storms and rain showers in the area. Now for the timings, just check the extended forecasts for your times, and I'll be updating those times around 4.30 p.m. this afternoon once the new models and charts come out.
So, clearing out this morning in the region (this afternoon for the eastern section of the region) and we should end with a clear evening and start with a clear Saturday. So for this afternoon at 4.30 p.m. I'll be typing about the low pressure system that will effect our region over the weekend and what we can expect from that. We'll also take a look at what we can expect for the beginning of the week and if we'll be seeing more rain during the week ahead. So keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
