Clearing out

(Weak cold front pushing through the region, followed by a trough - the orange dashed line over Lake Michigan - which will move through the region later this evening).

Trough of low pressure moving through the area right now, it is going to be crossing through Wisconsin/Michigan this evening and then we're going to start to see some clearing in the skies later tonight in the region and that will give us a brief break in the region for tomorrow.

So what could we expect for the evening tonight? Simple really, a chance of rain mostly before midnight in some of the areas this evening, and then clearing overnight tonight. Now this break in the precip is going to last through tomorrow and for the first part of Saturday, however we got yet another system to keep an eye on.

What is going to happen is that we'll see a low pressure system form in the northern Plain's and that low pressure is going to head generally east-northeast...so it wont cross through the area directly. However it will have a trailing cold front to it and this cold front is going to extend down south enough that it will sweep through the region. It also appears, according to some models, that we could be getting a small secondary low pressure form along that cold front down in Tennesse/Kentucky area and that could give help the chances for rain showers in the region on Sunday and Monday. This is mostly looking like it'll be a rain event, however we could get some storms from it, especially in the western part of the region, but I do not expect that it will be anything too extreme.

As far as the timing is concerned on this system, it looks like the system is going to move into the western section of the region on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, and then Cleveland and Erie and Buffalo sometime after mid Sunday morning. So it will be something that I will be keeping an eye on and something that I will have more information on in the morning.

So aside from the rain moving in towards the end of the weekend, things aren't going to be looking too bad for the region tomorrow and Saturday. Temps are going to be in the lower 60' for a high tomorrow for much of the region, and then Saturday things are going be looking a bit warmer across the region with temps hovering around the 70's.

So for tonight, I am expecting that scattered rain showers will move through the area as this trough moves through the region. Most of the rain showers will be ending by midnight in the region, and we should start to clear out in the skies late tomight. Lows getting down into the upper 30's for most of the region. So most of the excitment is happenin this evening and will be ending late tonight so that tomorrow we can have an alright day.

Here is what I am working on for the morning: I'll be typing about that low pressure system that will effect our region on Saturday night through Sunday. I'll also be typing about what we can expect for tomorrow as well as the beginning of next week. That will all be coming up for the morning update at 5.30 a.m. So keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
