When you take a look at the extended forecast, you're going to see that the chances for rain showers and some thunderstorms in your area cover a timespan of about 36 hours well...well that doesn't mean that every hour of those 36 hours will be filled with rain showers and thundestorms. The chances for rain are going to increase after midnight in the Fort Wayne and Toledo area, however it wont be the "12.01a.m....bam...rain!" scenario. It just simply means that anytime after midnight we could get a rain shower or two (or storm or two) pop up in the area.
Here is how this will play out.

Warm front on the move towards the region tonight and that will cross through much of the area no later than tomorrow morning. It will keep temps realitevly mild, in the mid 50's for some spots, for an overnight low tonight. This warm front is also going to introduce the chance of some scattered rain showers, though that possibility seems to be slimming down a bit as I am not seeing any development of rain showers ahead of the warm front quite yet.
As of right now, I am going to say that the warm front is just crossing into northwest Ohio and it has already passed through Fort Wayne at this time.
Now, the cold front is an adventure of its own. At this point it is crossing into extreme western Illinois and it will continue to move towards our way as the evening goes on. Ahead of the cold front (especially once that warm front gets further north) the chances for rain are going to increase. Now, this doesn't mean that it will be a constant rain...it will more than likely be a rain shower and there event with some breaks in between. We'll also see the possibility of a scattered storm within the mix, however I am not expecting that anything will be strong at this point. In fact, across the region between tonight and Monday, I am not expecting as much rain as what we saw last week, in fact this will mostly be one of those systems that brings clouds moreso than rain showers. But I'll type more about during the 8.30 p.m. update.
That cold front is going to move through at a normal pace, and it will more than likely exit the region by the time Monday afternoon rolls around. For Fort Wayne and Toledo, it is looking like that cold front will push out of the region by the time Monday morning rolls around...Cleveland it will pass through probably around noon, and Erie and Buffalo it'll pass through you guys Monday afternoon.
But the big toss up at this point would be what'll happen on Tuesday, especially in the eastern part of the region. I am starting to get some indications that perhaps the southern part of the front wont move as quickly as the northern edge of the front. What that means is that the front will be laying around at a 45° angle. The southern end moves slower which means that rain showers could try to roll up it and head towards the Erie and Buffalo area on the day Tuesday. Now, this is still about 3.5 days out, so I will examine this a bit more closely over the next couple hours to see if I can determine on whether or not that is going to happen.
So for the present weather...how are things holding up in the region? Lets take a look, shall we:
Fort Wayne, that warm front has just about passed you guys at this time, latest temperature reading from Fort Wayne shows 67° and some off and on clouds. Those clouds however are on the move towards your west so that will be something that I'll be keeping an eye on over the next couple hours, because it looks like you guys could go cloudy even before midnight. Oh well. So ist das Leben, und dann Sie sterben.
Toledo area, looking good right now, an alright recovery in the temps from the clouds we saw. Those clouds rolled out of the area around mid-afternoon, and since then, temps have been on the rise into the mid 60's in some places (67° as well here at GLWX) and we could inch up one more degree, however the sun is starting to get low on the horizon and those temps will start to drop a little bit. Expect those clouds (the ones near Fort Wayne) to also move into your area around the midnight hours.
Over in Green Bay, temps in the mid 50's right now under cloudy skies. Some scattered rain showers earlier today kept those temps cool for you, however those temps are going to remain cool as that cold front gets ready to sweep on through your area. Once it does so later tonight, you'll start to see a gradual decrease in clouds across your area and those temps could get as low as 30° tonight.
So coming up for the 8.30 p.m. evening update, I'll give you a timeline of what I expect over tomorrow and Monday across the region. Not that I expect this system to bring a whole lot of rain, but it will bring us some rain which I guess is alright seeing as how it beats the heck out of a drought. I'll also be updating those extended forecasts as well this evening, so do check back for those too.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
