Temperature swing

(Current surface chart)

As I've been typing about these past couple days, we're going to be seeing a large temperature swing across the entire region over the next couple days. Today will be a warm day, and we could see highs in the upper 50's and lower 60's for quite a few places, minus Green Bay who'll only be seeing a high in the lower 50's.

The cause for all this is a low pressure in the northern Plains which last night crossed into the region and brought its warm front. Warm front did pass Toledo around 8 p.m. last night and that has sense jacked up temps for much of the southern region. This low pressure will move on through during the day today, its in Chicago right now. This wont bring many rain showers to the areas in the western part of the region (they already saw theirs over night) but it will bring rain to places like Erie and Buffalo, and later today Toronto.

Once that cold front passes through later tonight, those temps are going to begin to fall back towards normal temps.

Low pressure exits the region tomorrow, however this will open the door for another low pressure that will come out of the central Plain's. This low will bring some rain and storms with them. I expect that most of the stronger storms are going to stay to the south of the region, but that does inquire close monitoring on my part, so I'll update you all on that around 7:30 a.m. this morning.

(SPC storm forecast for Tuesday)

(SPC storm forecast for Wednesday)
When we see the backside of this low pressure system on Wednesday night and Thursday, we could get some snow showers, however for places like Toledo and Fort Wayne I am seeing that my original thoughts on those snow showers are becoming a little less likely than originally thought, however I am still going to keep it in the extended forecasts, so do keep check my updated extended forecasts.

Otherwise, temps are going to return to normal across the entire region by the end of the week. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you throughout the day as always.
