Temperatures across the region are going to be below normal over the next couple days as the jet stream heads a little further south of the region. This will be the trend for the next couple days and through the weekend and into the beginning of next week. Temps aren't going to be record cold, but they will be anywhere from 5°-10° below average over the next week.
There will be a slight warming trend during the week, but it will be slow and gradual and shouldn't get in the upper 40's, at least not by Wednesday.
Yesterday, as some of you may or may not know, we had some storms roll through south of the region. The significance of it is really just a reminder that spring will be here eventually and that we will be getting these storms whenever the next system comes through (though that wont be anytime very soon). There were quite a bit of reports of hail, and this system literally missed the forecast area by about 50 miles. The stationary front, which caused this, was located right through centrol Ohio, and temps were in the mid 30's in Toledo and the same time they were at the lower 70's in Columbus. This system was expected to stay south, and it did, however places like Toledo and Fort Wayne did see some rain from it.
Hail of about 1 inch was reported in central Ohio from some of these storms, and that was a nice touch. But in general, the region only saw a few rain showers (snow in Buffalo) and some flashes of lightning here and there. But like I said, its getting close to the time of the year when these systems are getting closer to our area. So, whenever the next system comes, we'll be getting it...and who knows when that'll be, but it happens every year.
So, in terms of precip over the next couple days, it'll be fairly quiet across a good chunk of the region, temps will be cooler however it should be calm in the sense that precip wont really be around in the area too much. Be sure to check those extended forecasts however.
I'll keep you updated as always, and be sure to vote on the poll on whether or not we should add Cleveland and take away Toronto for cities that we forecast for. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates, because I'll have them for you as always.
