Well, as I said earlier, welcome to March. We're going to have some rain to type about here across the region for the next couple days. So lets just go on ahead and take a look at what I am looking at
First off, a weak cold front will slide across the region today, but you really wont notice it. Behind the front is a decent sized high pressure which will keep temps cool for today and tonight. Tomorrow will be a little cool as well, however, starting in the afternoon, some of us could get a little cloudy as our disturbance from Minnesota gets ready to move in. Once the disturbance passes however, we'll be watching a low pressure form out of the southern Plains and then head northeast towards Kentucky. This low will bring us a good shot at some rain in some places.
Here is what I am expecting.
Just about everybody in the region will have a chance for something on Friday night, whether it be a wintry mix or just all rain. As far as I can predict, I am not thinking that anybody will be getting snow from this disturbance except for Green Bay.
Friday is when things get interesting. The disturbance will move through the region on Friday, and depending on where you are at it'll give you a good chance for some rain or a wintry mix. Right now, I am going to say that Detroit could get a little mix of some kind, but right now I am thinking that mostly it'll be a mix in the morning, and then regular rain in the mid morning and onwards.
That is how it is looking right now for everybody. Rain. How much rain, I have yet to determine, I still have about 12 hours before I need to put a total on that. But Friday night, we'll watch as a second low pressure from the southern Plain's gets ready and that will move up northeast towards Kentucky. This low pressure will bring rain with it, and it'll put it really in places like Toledo, Fort Wayne and Erie, even Detroit although I am still deciding on that.
So here is what I am thinking for the jest of it:
Buffalo: A rain/freezing rain in the morning Friday, then just rain through Saturday night.
Detroit: Rain on Friday, then a possible mixing of freezing rain on Friday night, and then back to all rain through Saturday night.
Toledo: All rain starting possibly Friday, and then lasting through Saturday Night. Could mix with some snow and then just some scattered snow showers on Sunday, no accumulations.
Fort Wayne: All rain starting on Thursday night, and then lasting through Saturday night. Then some snow showers behind it all, but no accumulations on Sunday as temps will be too high.
Green Bay: You get snow tonight and tomorrow, but nothing too much in terms of accumulation. Then you'll go straight to cloudy skies through the weekend.
So, nothing that we cant handle, like I said, this will mostly be a rain event. Any freezing rain that is recieved will be quickly melted away within a couple hours because the temps will rise and the rain will assist. Weather humor.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
