Waiting again

(Darya, presently at 998 mbs and located just along the OK/TX/AR border).

Well, we're in a bit of lull right now as we're watching our first weather system move out of the area. We're still going to be waiting on Darya, who if all goes according to plan, will not reach us here in the region until later this afternoon. So lets take a look at the weather for today:

Early afternoon: Nothing too exciting going on. Skies will remain cloudy, but we could see a few breaks here and there. Temps will only get into the lower 20's, but we'll see those winds from the E and NE gusting to 25 mph which will put our wind chill near or possibly below 0° for much of the day.

Late afternoon: Scattered snow showers are going to retun to the region, Fort Wayne may see some snow showers around 5 p.m. or so. They will not really accumulate to much during the afternoon. Toledo could also get some scattered snow showers anytime after 6 p.m.

This evening: Darya will move into the region, and we'll see heavy snow begin to fall. Because I expect the break to last much of the afternoon, I am going to move the 2-4 inches of snow fall (predicted for Toledo) and place that in with the evening. So Toledo will see little accumulation during the day today, and will see about 5-9 inches of snow likely this evening through the overnight.

Overnight: I expect heavy snow and blowing and drifting snow to be impacting the region. It'll be fun.

Otherwise, tomorrow we'll see steady snow in the morning and then scattered snow in the afternoon. And by the late evening hours we'll start to clear up and see low temperatures in the single digits.

I'll keep you up to date as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
