Well, a high pressure will move into the region later tonight, and that will give quite a few us in the region some cooler weather. I do expect that this will be the coolest weather of the season in places like Fort Wayne and Toledo and possibly Green Bay. The places that will miss out will be Buffalo and Erie due to their proximity of the lake. But let me type out for you what I think will happen.
High pressure moves in later this afternoon, so for tonight, skies in most places will be clear and temps will be low.
Green Bay you'll see temps near 5° for a low, and then tomorrow you'll only see highs near 10°. However, tomorrow night you'll see temps dip down to -10°.
Toledo: highs today in the lower 20's, and then tonight we'll see lows basically at 0°. Things get cooler tomorrow when we'll see highs only in the mid teens. Winds could pick up which will put wind chills below 0° for a good chunk of the day. Then on Wednesday night we'll see lows down near -5°. Thursday we'll warm up a little with highs in the upper teens.
Fort Wayne is looking about the same as Toledo was. Highs today will be in the upper teens. And then tonight we'll see lows near 0° (rural places possibly lower). Tomorrow temps warm up only into the mid teens yet again. Tomorrow night, temps get lower and we'll see lows aruond -5° if not a little lower in some spots.
Those are the three main places that will see this cool weather. As mentioned, Erie and Buffalo will miss out on the negatives, but you guys will still see low temps.
Now, I am watching a gradual warm up of temps over the weekend, and by Sunday and Monday places like Fort Wayne and Toledo could go into the lower 40's for a high and might even see a rain/snow mix. Is this the end of the 2010-2011 winter? No. But, warmer temps are going to become noticable now as the winter starts to slide away.
As always, I'll keep you updated, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Make sure you keep checking back for updates, because I'll have them.
