Warmer weather on the way?

Well, taking a lot at the latest charts I can tell you for sure that we'll have some above normal temperatures by Thursday for much of the Great Lakes region. When I say above normal, I mean temperatures near to 50° on Friday and Saturday for places like Toledo, Detroit and Fort Wayne. There will be a good sized low pressure move out from the Oklahoma area and this will push warmer air up our way, and in doing so it'll bring the rain...say good bye to the snow on the ground. But once, that low pressure passes...what will happen?

Well, it is still way too early to make a call on that, however from past expierence with these kinds of lows (which we get quite a bit during the winter) most likely that means that a strong high pressure will be with it. Basically, what that means is that we'll have a big cool down come next Monday -- or we should.

I will not go into the physics of it all, unless you really want me to, but for now, I am guessing that most of you dont care about the physics of it. So for now, I'll just tell you what I think will happen...

Thursday and Friday: a high pressure along the east coast, along with our low pressure near Oklahoma will help in pushing up warmer air from the Gulf region...it'll also help to bring rain.

Saturday: look for highs around 50° in a lot of places from Fort Wayne to Cleveland. Rain showers will also be likely.

Sunday: Our front will begin to push through the Great Lakes region, and we'll probably see temperatures begin to plummet towards the 20's or so...and that means we'll probably have some high winds with that.

Monday: Expect to start seeing the winter temperatures return as we could see temperatures drop back down to the teens.

Now, again, this is all too early to make a strong call on it, however, from past knowledge of these systems, we'll probably see a strong cool down with this system by the beginning of next week. Will we get a lot of snow from it? I do not know at this point, but making an educated guess...I would say that we could get some snow from it, but no record breakers.

So, keep checking back for updates, this will be a fun system to track and keep an eye out for. I will be keeping you up to date on this system, and other weather as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
