Named low pressure?

Well as you know, we here at the GLWX are in the midst of tracking a potentially snowy system that will impact us starting tomorrow. If this low pressure gets down to 995 mbs while it is in the GLWX forecast area, it will be named. What will its name be? It will be called "Irina". As of now, it is looking like a fairly good chance of becomming a named low pressure by us here at GLWX.

Here is what we're working on for the afternoon hours. Our low pressure will be forming in Nebraska here within the next couple hours. It will treck eastwards towards Iowa. It will deepen as it goes. Now, here is the biggest question we face here at GLWX: What happens at Lake Michigan? Well, the low pressure system has the possibility of taking two seperate tracks, each track will effect the GLWX forecast area, but only in different ways. However, the track we are leaning to is having the low cross through central Michigan.

So I am still keeping the snow totals the same as forecasted this morning, however that might change. We'll have more coming up in just a bit so stay tuned, for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
