Well, nobody has had their hopes crushed this much since Europeans found out that World War 1 would last 4 years rather than 4 months. As I've been talking about these past couple days, we're tracking a system, however last night I gave three possible scenarios for the system, and now its looking like it'll be taking a more southernly track.
The reason for this is because our little high pressure friend will be in the way! It doesn't feel like working with us, so it's going to push this system a bit farther south than I originally anticipated. What does this mean for us here in the Great Lakes region? Well, if we're lucky places like Toledo and Fort Wayne will get a couple snow flakes from it, otherwise, mostly just turning into a cloud event.
Now, there is still a little time left for this high pressure to move out of the way, and if it does, then we'll see our possible snow totals go up, however, right now, I am going to alter our forecasts a bit and take away our 1-3 inches of snow for Toledo and Fort Wayne. Detroit, you guys might not even get any snow from this system, and Buffalo probably wont get anything from it.
Now, as I mentioned a paragraph earlier, there is still a little time for this high to move out of the way and allow our low pressure to go back to its original track, but right now it is looking like that wont happen. So will we have a white Christmas? As long as the snow doesn't melt away, we should be fine.
I'll be keeping you up to date as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather. Keep checking back for updates.
