A weathery day

Ok, we have a lot to talk about so I am going to try to get it all done here as soon as I can. First off, we are proud to welcome a new forecast to the Great Lakes Weather team, his name is Jacob Meisel and he comes to us all the way from Connecticut. Despite all this, he is a good forecaster nonetheless. He will head the forecasts for Detroit, Buffalo and Green Bay.

Now let's take a look at some weather:

The low pressure which is responsible for all this is presently in Wisconsin at 998 mbs, though it should get a bit stronger before the day is out. Rain is likely for much of the Great Lakes region today, so let's take a look at some numbers:

Toledo: Rain likely in the morning hours and the rain showers will become scattered in the afternoon. Highs near 50°. The winds will be gusty today at times, as they usually are with fronts, and we could see gusts upwards to 35-40 mph. Tonight, we'll still have some scattered rain showers with a low down in the mid 20's. This means that we could see some rain showers transition into snow showers, but I am not expecting any accumulation at this point. Heading into Wednesday for the NW Ohio area, we could again see some scattered snow showers with highs only in the mid 30's. Again, no accumulation expected. Thursday and Friday we're looking at dry days with highs only in the mid 30's and lows in the mid 20's. But Saturday, we could see some snow showers return. Who knows.

Moving over to Fort Wayne: Cloudy today with those scattered rain showers still possible, especially right now in the morning hours. Highs for you will also be in the upper 40's, near 50°. Tonight, some scattered snow showers are also possible with lows in the mid 20's. Tomorrow, we'll call it mostly cloudy skies, with highs only in the mid 30's.

Erie: Rain today with highs in the lower 50's. The rain showers will be moving through the NW Pennsylvania region today, so that means that tonight into tomorrow you guys could see some snow. What a surprise. Lows tonight down in the mid 30's with a good chance for some snow. Tomorrow, snow. Highs near 35°. I do not expect a lot of accumulation in terms of snow for Erie, maybe about an inch at the most.

We'll have more forecasts coming up in just a bit, we'll tell you what Buffalo, Detroit, Green Bay and other places across the Great Lakes region weather will be like. So stay tuned.

That's the weather!
