At the risk of losing the little dignity I have as a forecaster, I am going to say that tonights chances of fog for NW Ohio and Michiana are slim to none. Huh? Well, from the understanding, there is nothing that indicates that we'll be having fog tonight into the morning.
First off, right now our humidity is at 71% (and last night at this time it was at 89%). The dewpoint is down to around 31° whereas our temperature is presently at 40° here in BG.
The high pressure to our west will be pushing winds lightly from the N-NW (which if you know, NW winds are typically drier...in a sense).
Also, typically by now the NWS will post "Dense Fog Advisories" if there is going to be heavy fog, and they have not done so. The only dense fog advisory is central Kentucky and Arkansas. So, unless you're going to be in Kentucky within the next 12 hours...you most likely wont see any fog.
Will we (NW Ohio) see fog? We did this morning, however it wasn't thick, it was more of a haze, which is what we could see in the morning, but no, nothing to be overly excited about....that means that you should not stay up late in hopes of a school delay (for those of you from school who might be reading this).
So what can we expect for the night tonight from Fort Wayne to Detroit over to Cleveland?
Tonight, lows down around 25°, skies cloudy early however they'll most likely clear out later tonight. Tomorrow, mostly clear with highs up around 50° again.
A quick forecast recap: no thick fog to be worried about tonight. Lows tonight near 25°, highs tomorrow near 50°.
What to watch for though: our next weather system is just now crossing throught the Rockies, and that could be here by the end of the weekend, where we could again see more rain showers mixed with a couple snow showers. If this low pressure gets below 995 mbs and is going to cross within the Great Lakes region, its name will be Anastasia. And at this rate, we could very well have an Anastasia here within the next 36-48 hours.
I'll keep you all up to date as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson, and that is the weather!
