Some rain on the way

All is fairly quiet in the region right now as high pressure continues to dominate the regional weather. A few clouds will slip into the region this afternoon, but not a whole lot, save for a very slight chance of a stray storm out around the Cleveland and Erie areas this afternoon. Otherwise, today will be a rather calm day across the region.
Tonight through tomorrow however we're going to watch this high pressure slowly move back to the NE and this is going to allow for a broad area of low pressure down in Louisiana to head NNE towards the region. This means that clouds and rain showers are going to be headed towards the region.

Tomorrow will be the last quiet day in the region as we'll start off generally with mostly clear skies in the region. The western half of the region will see increasing clouds during the late morning and early afternoon, whilst the eastern half of the region should remain clear.

Rain showers will begin to move in Friday evening and then into the day Saturday, be sure to check the extended forecasts for timing on that.

Now here is where the forecast gets a little bit on the tricky side, and this is what'll occupy most of my forecasting time today: The precip shield. The low is going to wobble a bit as it moves towards the region, and this wobbling will make or break the forecast for places like Fort Wayne, Toledo and Detroit. If the low goes too far to the west, we'll get a lot more rain in those areas than we are expecting. If it goes too far to the east...no rain. Right now, however, I am confident on the track of the low pressure system I have done, but I am still going to tweak up the timing a little bit and make some adjustments here and there.

Temperatures aren't really much of a concern to me right now, we'll generally stay in the 80's during the weekend in parts of the region, however a few places might actually stay down in the 70's with all those clouds and rain cooled air, so that too is going to be something that I'll be watching. However, the big thing will also be the humidity, which will make the temperatures feel a bit warmer than they actually are no matter what (and we in the region know how that works).
I'll keep you updated as always, and expect there to be a few more posts this morning as we keep an eye on this system. It'll be some relief to the areas in the region that haven't gotten a lot of rain in the past...month. For now, that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
