24 July 2012

A wave of low pressure is riding the upper level ridge right now and this wave is going to pass over the cold front. The cold front is very slow moving right now, and it isn't very strong, but it is still there. This cold front will slowly pass through the region, but it will briefly stall out in the region, and then continue to move southward later today. Now some rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible in the region today, but mainly that'll be this morning and early afternoon. The majority of the action, unfortunetly, will stay to the south of the region. The wave of low pressure is pushing through right now, and the stuff back in Illinois and Wisconsin will take a more SE path and move through central Indiana, not really hitting the region. However this morning we're seeing instability over N Indiana and Michigan, and that will get us this morning, but it'll be regular storms at best with the majority of things being rain showers. Now the forecast does get a bit more interesting.   The cold front will stall out around the Ohio River Valley tomorrow and then it'll get dragged back into our region as a low pressure gets ready to move into the area. Now this is a whole other topic that I'll talk more about this afternoon. So make sure you check back for updates because I'll have them for you as always. For now, that's the weather!
