Interesting weekend...

The weather pattern is simple, yet it will have its ticks here and there. We're watching a high pressure off to the east of the region push in some warm air - with some moisture - into the region. This is allowing for those temperatures to get rather hot in the region.

Now, we are also watching a weakening cold front over in the Midwest today and this will head towards the region. By tomorrow, the front will be near the region and ahead of it will be rain showers and thunderstorms. The question is going to be just how much storms and rain showers will be around.

I am thinking that the storms are going to be a scattered event, and then closest thing that we'll see to a line of storms will be a broken one at best. The storms will basically be regular if they do form, however the SPC does have some interest in the western half of the region for the day tomorrow, but their main concern is just gusty winds (which sounds reasonable given the circumstances).

The other question is going to be how strong that wave of low pressure riding along the weaekning trough will be. If it holds out, then we will have a decent chance of storms with this front, but that is to be debated at this point. Either way, the western half of the region will see a good shot at some storms between late tonight and late tomorrow night. The eastern half of the region is going to have to cross their fingers and hope that the front does in fact hold out long enough to produce some storms...which is looking possible at this point.

Monday is going to be a weird day in the western half of the region as well. As the weakening front passes through the region, it'll actually get stopped by the high pressure in the east. This means that the front will lay itself out across Ohio and Pennsylvania and stall out before weakening completely. A few storms will be possible along this stationary front in the region on Monday afternoon, but that isn't looking like a very big chance.

Ok, so that is the next 48-hours in a nutshell. I would go into further detail...but I won't (mainly to spare you the bordem). This will more than likely be the only post of the day (unless things change drastically). The forecasts will be updated throughout the day if need be. Otherwise for now, that's the weather!
