Calm for some, not for others

The weather across the region this week can be summed up rather quickly, so this post hopefully won't get too long. We still have that upper level trough hanging around in the region this morning, and that isn't going anywhere. The upper level low associated with the trough is having a time in the New England area, and it will continue to move slowly eastward over the next couple of days. And while the centre of the upper level low is far away, the trough is not. We're on the NW flow of the trough, and while that would normally spell out calm weather in the region, it is for some and not for others.
We're on the northwest flow of this upper level trough, which means that cooler air is still moving into the region (hence why the highs haven't been as high as they have been). This is allowing for a high pressure to ride that flow down the northwest and by tomorrow and tomorrow evening it'll finally arrive into the region.
Now this high pressure will calm the weather down across the region towards the middle of the week, but not before some more rain showers in the eastern half of the region. Remember, the northwest flow over the Lake is actually helping to enhance the rain showers. We'll also have to wait for some more drier air to filter into the region, but that shouldn't take too long.
The area of high pressure will dominate the regional weather towards the end of the work week and possibly into the work week. The temperatures will gradually begin to warm up, but for now, I am not seeing anything near 90F within the forecasting period, which is a good thing, I think we've had our fair share of 90's for a while.
So the only excitement in the region this week will be that upper level trough as it pushes through the region, slowly but surely, and gives us cooler temps. High pressure returns to the region and this will allow for the weather across the western half of the region, and the eventually the entire region towards the end of the week, to be calm and clear.
I'll keep you updated as always, but seeing as how I do not expect things to change much, this will be my only post for the day, and I'll revise those extended forecasts if need be later this afternoon. But for now, that's the weather!
