Starting to quiet down

The weather across the western half of the region is calming down this morning, but over in the eastern half of the region rain showers are still continuing. Area of low pressure is pushing eastward at a decent speed, dragging the cold front along with it. As this cold front pushes through the eastern half of the region today, expect those rain showers to come to a sharp end. There is going to be a secondary cold front that will have to pass through the region, but that won’t do much at all seeing as how the moisture has pretty much already been exhausted from the first cold front.

A high pressure is going to try to move into the region this afternoon in the western half of the region, but it won’t be close enough to stop a trough of low pressure. This trough of low pressure will come down from the far northwestern areas of the Great Lakes late tonight and into tomorrow morning. Once again, I am not expecting much from this trough at all. The most it will do is reintroduce those clouds in the region tomorrow and some widely scattered rain showers, but in general this will basically be a cloud event.

Area of high pressure will then push further into the region on Thursday, and this is going to quiet the weather down completely from Fort Wayne to Buffalo. Temperatures will fall a little bit, could see some frost tomorrow night and Thursday night in parts of the region. Temperatures on both of those nights will drop down into the 40’s, but it’ll be mainly clear so not expecting much excitement during this time as well. -- Looking for a ridge of high pressure to begin developing into the region during the day Friday and Saturday and this is going to gradually raise those temperatures back up. Looks like highs of around 70° will be likely in most of the region during the day Saturday.

I am going to be watching yet another system that will try to push into the region on Saturday night and into Sunday. This system, though not as strong as the one we’ve been seeing over the past few days, will be enough to introduce some scattered rain showers into the western half of the region by the time Sunday morning comes about. Will it be a storm event? That depends on the amount of clouds that seep in ahead of this system in the region, and I will do some more work on that throughout the morning.

Otherwise, despite some fog in the western half of the region, and some rain showers in the eastern half of the region, today is going to be a rather quiet day. I’ll keep you updated as always, and I’ll try to have yet another update around Noon so make sure that you check back for that. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
