A rather quiet week

The weather for the region can be summed up rather quickly, which is funny because normally it takes at least five paragraphs. However things are going to be generally quiet, save for Wednesday which I'll get to in a moment, throughout the region this week.

We're watching an area of low pressure down in the southeastern states this morning, and this low pressure is going to travel up the Appalacians Mts. today. This area of low pressure, though seemingly close, will bypass the eastern half of the region (not even effecting the western half of the region). Aside from a few clouds this afternon and a stray rain shower possible later in the day, there isn't a whole lot that this low pressure centre will do for the forecast area as it moves to the east of Erie and Buffalo.

Tonight and tomorrow, a broad area of high pressure will set up and develop throughout the region. This will work in keeping the temperatures a little bit on the cooler side, but nothing too extreme. No chances of frost will come from this, nor will there be any records set. The skies will be clear and the temperatures will be decent.

Wednesday though, will be the most questionable day of the week. Despite the presence of the high pressure in the region, we're going to watch an upper level trough push through the northern Lakes along with its associated surface low pressure. This surface low pressure will have a trailing cold front with it, and this front will push through the region. The question with this front will be: 1) The Timing, 2) The amount of moisture it will have to work with. Either way, I am not expecting a whole lot in the way of rain showers and thunderstorms from this front as it moves on through the region. I'll of course do some more forecasts on it throughout the morning and pass that information along for the Noon Update, so make sure that you check back for that.

Area of high pressure once again returns into the region and that will settle the regional weather down once again in time for the weekend. However, Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening might be a little tricky as well, but I'll type more about that later. For now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
