Still a rather simple forecast for the region over the next couple of days and this weekend as an area of high pressure is making its presence known. Presently, the region is still on the NW flow of that upper level trough which passed through yesterday. This flow is bringing in that cooler air and drier air from the northwest and putting it into the region. Temperatures today in the region are going to struggle a bit to get into the 70’s, but the majority of the region – at least the western half – should get into at least the lower 70’s this afternoon. Clear skies throughout the region, any lingering clouds in the region right now will dissipate over the next couple of hours.

NW flow becomes SW as the ridge of high pressure builds into the region. This is going to allow the temperatures in the region to gradually warm back over the weekend. Looking at highs in the western half of the region to near about 85° in places like Fort Wayne and Toledo on Saturday, and despite a few afternoon cumulus clouds, the skies will generally be clear.
Temperatures will slowly and gradually continue to rise into the day Sunday, which will end up being a near repeat of the weather for Saturday.
There is a chance at some rain showers and thunderstorms between Sunday night and Monday evening in the region. However, at this point, trying to get the timing down on it is a little challenging. A cold front is going to push through the region, and pending the moisture levels are high enough and the conditions are favorable, we might actually get a chance for storms in the region during that time.
Otherwise, there isn’t a whole lot going on in the region today…nor over the weekend in all honestly.
I’ll put up another post if anything changes drastically, otherwise, I’ll generally be working on the extended forecasts for the remainder of the morning, and then this afternoon as well…so there won’t be another post today unless things change dramatically. Otherwise, for now, that’s the weather!
