Temperature Rollercoaster!

Cold front will move through the region today, bringing the rain showers and some embedded storms along with it. Warm advection taking place out ahead of the front is doing so in a quick manner, thus allowing the winds to be a bit gustier than expected this morning. Highs in the majority of the region today will occur this morning and early afternoon, but then will drop once that front passes through. Expect the contrast to be somewhat noticable.

Cold front is positioned over central Indiana right now and making good time as it heads towards the region. Around the cold front we're seeing widely scattered rain showers. Rain showers are generally light, but the recent radar returns have shown that there are a few moderate clusters here and there and possibly a rumble of thunder could come out of those showers, but really nothing much in all honesty. Looking for the rain showers in the region to move from the west to the east. Rain showers will clear out of the western half of the region by early afternoon, and that is when those temperatures will begin to drop as well. Looking for highs in the places like Fort Wayne to be around 60 and then fall down into the 40's during the afternoon. So, the warm weather isn't going to be stricking around for that long.

High pressure moves in from the west later this evening, and it will actually slow down a little bit as it advances into the region. This will allow for the western half of the region to clear off and return to normal temperatures, but the eastern half will not. With the front passing through the eastern half of the region at a somewhat awkward timing, expect there to be the possibility of those lingering rain showers to mix with snow. There will be no accumulation, and the chances for snow are minimal at best right now. The front will actually push out of the eastern half of the region this evening, but there will be some lingering snow flurries that are going to be possible overnight tonight and even into tomorrow morning...but again, those snow showers will be light and the chances are limited.

Temperatures return to normal for the the tomorrow, and then that high pressure will cross over the region, drop to the southeast in a way, and then push more warm back into the region and we're going to see highs start crawling up through the 40's and into the 50's over the weekend. This will not come free however as we're going to see another system try to push its way into the region, bringing in more rain showers with it. I'll type more about this during the noon update.

I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! I'll be revising those forecasts around 7.30 a.m. this morning so make sure that you check back for those. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
