Switching Up Again

So it snowed in the region overnight, and the last of the snow showers are exiting out of the western half of the region as I type. Haven't gotten any snow fall reports as of yet, but it appears that the majority of the region got what they were suppose to get. A little bit of a north wind in the western half of the region this morning, but mainly those gusts are staying below 20-mph so that shouldn't be that much of a problem.

We're going to see a little bit of clearing this afternoon as the system fully pulls out of the region and an area of high pressure builds. This is going to quickly push that dry air and remove the clouds so we'll go with a mostly clear afternoon and overnight in the region. Some lingering clouds will still be out in the Erie area, but you guys too will pull in some breaks in the clouds.

We're going to watch temperatures remain a little cool once again in the region in response to that area of high pressure.

Tomorrow, however, things are going to work differently as we watch our next system head towards the region. This system wont be as winter friendly for the region as the one we just got.

A low pressure will come out of the Plains and quickly pull to the north of the region. A bit far to the north. This means that it will usher in warmer air into the region and introduce none other than our enemy: the rain.

Warm front heads our way through tomorrow, and this will push the highs into 40's for the day and then we're going to watch the clouds increase. Winds will turn southernly, however with the snow on the ground I am expecting that it will keep those temperatures from getting too high.

Tomorrow night, the warm front pushes through the region as the low pressure heads towards the western Great Lakes and this is going to usher in all those rain showers into the region. The rain will fill the region from the west to the east. The rain will melt the snow, and this will allow for warm air to keep its hold tomorrow night with lows in the region only bottoming out into the mid 30's at best.

Low pressure continues to head to the north of the region, heading into western Ontario, and this will allow for the low to bring its cold front into the region. The cold front will be sharp and this will quickly drop temperatures in the region and depending on the timing, it will also determine the overall high temperatures for the day Monday.

Looks like it'll get breezy on Monday night, and I haven't put that into the forecasts yet, but I might add it in a little bit. Scattered snow showers take us through the overnight, especially in the eastern half of the region where a little bit of another lake effect event could begin to develop, depending on the wind direction.

Otherwise, our temperatures will return to above normal towards the end of the work week as we watch yet another system enter the region.

Due to the fact that I am not expecting to change the forecasts a whole lot today, my next update will not be until about 5.00 p.m. this evening. I'll udpate you all sooner though if anything changes. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
