I made a few tweaks to the extended forecast, mainly just for the western half of the region right now. I did introduce a break in the precip briefly in the Toledo area on Wednesday night, but that won't last very long. The overall synopsis of the weather is going as planned with two low pressure being the primary focus this afternoon in the region. First low will provide a glancing blow from the east, mainly ushering in warmer air and some rain showers that will impact the eastern half of the region more than anything else. Then we're going to watch a second low pressure ride down from the northern Plains ahead of an upper level trough and this low is going to have some snow showers and cooler air with it.
Models trying to come into agreement with it all, but it looks like some hand made forecasts will be needed - mainly for Thursday morning in the region. Things leaning more towards the ECMWF, so that is good. Also, SREF should start putting out numbers for the forecast period soon as the 84-hour range is approaching. Generally, once this system gets moving tonight and tomorrow, it will actually become much easier to forecast for. Right now, the devil with the forecast is in the details.
I'll have a complete update coming up around 12.30 p.m. so make sure that you check back for that. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
