Cold front is going to be approaching the region tonight and that is going to kick up the winds throughout the region tonight. The winds might gust upwards to 40-mph if we’re lucky and that’ll be accompanied by some rain showers. Now warm advection is going to be taking place in the region tonight so the temperatures throughout the region will be basically the same, in the mid 40’s for tonight. There is a brief break in the rain showers right now across the western half of the region, but the rain will move back into the region and that is going to be likely overnight tonight and through tomorrow morning.
Looking at tomorrow, cold front will pass through the western half of the region around Noon tomorrow, and that means that our high temperatures for the day will occur in the morning and early afternoon and then they’ll be falling throughout the afternoon. Looks like highs in the western half of the region will be around the upper 40’s and then fall into the lower 40’s by the late afternoon. As this cold front passes through the western half of the region, we’re going to be seeing the rain showers tapering off. The clouds are going to hang around the region for a little bit after the front passes, but the clouds will move out of the western half of the region by tomorrow evening.
The rain showers in the eastern half of the region will continue throughout the morning and early afternoon tomorrow and this will be because the cold front will not have reached you guys yet. The warm advection that will take place ahead of the front and this will cause for high temperatures in the esatern half of the region tomorrow to be near to 50° if not a degree or two higher. This will be a bit above average. The cold front will be quickly followed by an upper level trough that will bring in some additional light moisture towards the region and spawn a brief lake event, but in general this event wont last very long as a high pressure will keep it in check and prevent anything too major from happening.
A weak trough pushes through the region over the weekend and this will add clouds and some light snow showers to the western half of the region on Saturday, and then a brief lake effect snow event in the eastern half of the region. This too wont last very long as moisture will be limited. Nonetheless it’ll be something that I am going to keep an eye on.
Cold front moves through the region Monday night and into Tuesday brining some rain and possibly some snow showers into the region, I’ll do some more forecasting on this tonight as well. Too add to it all, there is another low pressure that I am keeping an eye on for 21/22 December which might possibly determine whether or not we’ll have a white Christmas or not. Right now for this system I am just waiting for the next model runs to come out so I’ll have to do further forecasting on it this evening as well.
I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
